There is a pet store in Siler City, a block from the Post Office, that sells fish and some aquarium supplies:

They also sell a variety of rats, hamsters, plus dog and cat supplies that you find at Wal-Mart or PetSmart.
If you go on a Saturday, be sure to stop next door at Succotashed for breakfast or lunch.
