Maybe Momopom was looking at a new word called “suburbane” when she posted December 28. Or maybe Webster’s dictionary made a slip. Using my Funk & Wagnalls, I find:
Urbane – characterized by having refinement or elegance, especially in manner; polite; suave; opposed to rustic [Latin – urbanus of a city…]
Suburban – 1. Of or pertaining to a suburb. 2. Dwelling or living in a suburb.
The new word, suburbane, could mean under or below the refinement or elegance or a city dweller. I think we have many people here who qualify for that definition, one way or the other.
