Subject: Litter in PBO
What can we do people?
Reacting and cleaning up is great. But what is it with the people just tossing out their trash?
Education? Convenience? Parenting?
I am simply disgusted at the lack of simply that. The lack of: responsibility, concern, resolve, involvement, punishment and pride.
I am involved as an Adapt A Highway volunteer. But that is not helping the real issue.
Litter is something we were getting a grip on in the days of Woodsie the Owl back in the 70’s.
And we are now just letting careless loafs litter of roadways and diminishing our quality of life.
What are we doing about the problem? How are we becoming a better society by letting this happen?
As this region grows in population this will only get worse. It says one thing very clearly.
There is a huge lack of community and education.
There are so many great people in the PBO area. So much potential. Yet it is tarnished by the careless.
It is time to step up. The local authorities can step up.
Issue tickets for loose loads in the back of pick up trucks. Police can actually issue tickets for littering.
Teachers can teach the importance of recycling and environmental activeness. Schools should make this an agenda.
Parents can talk to the children and say..”that is wrong”
Local government can reach out and make “Clean and Green” a goal.
Yes it can happen very easily if people would stop being lazy.
We need to all get involved and do what we can to keep our town and county beautiful.
I am willing to go all out. Are you?
