Subject: Chatham County moving the planned Ag Center?
The County Board had made plans previously to build an Agricultural Center in Pittsboro, next to the CCCC campus. The Pittsboro Town Board, at the County’s request, rezoned the property, amended the Town Land Use Plan and allocated sewer capacity to make this happen.
At their meeting on November 4, the County Board is going to have discussion and possibly a vote on moving the Center to Siler City. I would ask them to reconsider this- having the site in the county seat and near the college makes a lot of sense.
I hope they keep an open mind on this, and consider why they decided to commit to Pittsboro originally.
