Chatham Chatlist #4676In response to Mr. Glendinning, I still have questions about Bill 515 some of which I have stated before.
If this all about upriver from Jordan and Durham has “state of the art†controls what about Burlington? It seems that the Senators from the Burlington and Greensboro districts are the authors of the bill. What is their stake concerning Chatham Co. and Jordan Lake? I think none
Concerning lack of funds for enforcement of present regulations. That’s no excuse. We keep building prisons and pay our policeman. Why can’t we enforce environmental regulations.
As for creating jobs, seems like there are some that need to be saved or created so that regulations can be enforced. Yes these are government jobs but what jobs do you propose they apply for? Wal-Mart?
Finally, why was this bill rushed through the Senate?
Less government is a great idea except when it comes to regulations. We need them and if they are not right change them. This Bill eliminates previous rules.
