Subject: You CAN Do Something to Feed Hungry Children in Chatham this Summer!
A few weeks ago, Phreddie DeLois Popp asked these questions in a post about community activism:

people in this country that go to bed hungry each night??? (maybe one
fight at a time, but there are also a lot of neglected and abused
children in our county also.)
It is sad that the only food some of our defenseless children (right
here in Chatham County) have is what they get at school . . . >>
Did you know that 49.6% of Chatham County public school children receive free or low-cost meals at school because their families live at or near poverty level?
Did you know that CORA Food Pantry has a program to provide food to these children during the summer? SNACK! (Summer Nutritional Assistance for Chatham Kids) will provide food for 1000 of these children this summer: food for 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches and daily healthy snacks, food for healthy balanced meals including milk and fresh local produce.
You can help by sponsoring a child for the summer through our SNACK! Angels program. Your pledge to CORA of $150 will provide this much needed source of nutrition for a Chatham County child for the entire summer. You can pay your pledge in one of three ways:
· One-time payment of $150 by cash, check or credit/debit card
· Three monthly payments of $50 each
· Twelve monthly payments of only $13 each!!
For your convenience, you can sign up for automatic monthly payments with a credit or debit card. Sign up once and you’re done! Most Chatham folk won’t miss $13 a month. It’s easy, and it will do so much for a Chatham County child who needs your help.
