Subject: Walmart Opens Employment Center in Governors Village
The Chatham County Walmart has opened an employment center at the Bold Building, 50101 Governors Drive. The management team anticipates hiring around 200 people across a broad range of skill levels and compensation for the new store, located at the intersection of Highway 15-501 and Smith Level Road and scheduled to open in June.
Interested applicants should fill out an online application at https://hiringcenter.walmartstores.com and specify that they are interested in employment at Store 3182. They should then call the employment center at 919-942-7830 to schedule an interview.
The employment center, located in Suite 168, will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Management also plans to hold job fairs at various locations throughout Chatham, Lee, and Orange Counties in March and April.
Chatham County Board of Commissioner Chair Walter Petty expressed appreciation to both Store Manager Christopher Smith and Chris Ehrenfeld of Domicile Realty for their efforts in setting up the employment office. “We are excited about the new jobs that this project will bring, and thank Christopher and Chris for getting the employment center up and running in a very short time frame,” Petty said.
Partners helping publicize employment opportunities include the Chatham Chamber of Commerce, the Chatham Economic Development Corporation, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce, and the Employment Security Commission offices in Orange, Chatham and Lee Counties.
