Subject: Deer Repellent Recipe
We live in an area of Pittsboro where we typically have deer; not many, perhaps a herd of anywhere from four to nine at any given time. For us, personally, having “resident” deer in our area has not been an issue. We have experienced relatively little feeding on the landscape around our house in the past, not enough to care about, frankly. For the most part, we are careful to plant as little “deer candy” as possible when putting in landscaping plants.
However, over the past couple of weeks the deer are consuming our landscaping plants noticeably more. They have come close enough to the house to even feed on plants wintering in pots on our front steps, which have always been untouched. We began using a mixture of eggs, milk, hot sauce, garlic, vegetable oil mixed with water to spray on our landscape plants; we just applied it over the last two days, so we have no results to share.
We wonder, though, if anyone has a recipe for deer repellent they have found works even fairly well. Any recipes you share are appreciated.
