Pittsboro, N.C. — A Chatham County woman was charged Thursday after her daughter took a loaded gun to school.
The 10-year-old had the .45-caliber handgun in her bookbag before classes at North Chatham School.
Her mother, Idre Tania Moreno, 28, of 219 Highland Drive North in Chapel Hill, was charged with misdemeanor failure to secure firearms.
