Subject: Why to NEVER buy and appliance at LOWES
Year: 2000. Purchase brand new top of the line GE profile gas range. Stainless?
Year 2001. Top begins to rust badly. Call Lowes. Not their problem. Call GE, not their problem.
Whose problem… mine? Never fixed, now entire top is rusted.
Year 2012. Thought I’d NEVER buy another appliance from Lowes but found a “good deal” on a dented fridge. Has one small dent in it b/c it was deliveredto a home but didn’t work so it was brought back and a new coil installed so I got it for $600. Big sign on it “New Coil, Tested, Works” One small dent turned into three, one quite large and
on the front of the freezer door, by time it arrived at my house.
Ok, negotiate over the phone about those dents and get a little more off.
I have taken a half day off work, removed everything from my fridge, sold my fridge and don’t really care if it’s lovely or not, I just need a fridge.
Plug it in. NOthing. Nope. Doesn’t work. Are you serious?
Go down to Lowes, leaving my food on the counters, my old fridge on the front porch and try to reason with Michael Kippers, the ass. manager, sayinghe needs to make this right. He’ll take 10% off a brand new model….which leaves me paying $700 more than the original deal. That’s the “best he can do”.Well, I know that’s not true. On top
of it, he gets smug b/c how can I expect him to “lose money”? I’m losing money while by groceries melt on my counter.
Bottom line. I’m sitting here with my fridge still on the front porch waiting an hour and a half now for them to come move it back in so I can put my groceries back in it.
True bottom line. Buy you lightbulbs and tools at Lowes but not your appliances or your plants (they suck too)
But appliances where? Suggestions?
