It might be hard to imagine signing up for fall and winter classes while it’s still summer, but CCCC registration is open now and will fill up fast. Come learn, share, and be nourished with me and the plants and trees!

LOCAL EDIBLE & MEDICINAL PLANTS FALL FIELD STUDY
**Offered through CCCC**
**meets all over Chatham County**
**Class 1 (course # 3312): Tuesdays, 1-5 pm, October 2-October 30**
**Class 2 (course # 3316): Thursdays, 4-8 pm, October 4-November 1**
Meet, eat, and drink some of the abundant edible and medicinal plants growing wild in the NC Piedmont. In this hands-on field study, we’ll cover identification, ethical gathering, preparation, and usage of foraged food and plant medicine. We’ll celebrate the arrival of fall
as we explore a variety of local environments, including a visit to AbunDance Healing Arts Sanctuary.
Cost for the 5-week course is $66.25. Registration begins August 8th.

WINTER TREE EXPLORATION
**November 13th-December 4th**
**Tuesdays, 1-4pm**

Deepen your awareness and connection with our largest plant friends:
the trees! In this field study we’ll visit various local environments to explore ways to identify trees in the wintertime. We’ll also cover the edible and medicinal properties of trees, ethical gathering, and preparation, while enjoying many hands-on activities.
Class facilitated by community herbalist and wild foods enthusiast “Planty” Kim Calhoun who grew up learning about trees on walks with her grandparents in the woods of Chatham County. For ages 14 and older. Class size is limited. Register in person or by phone at CCCC
