Subject: Recipes Needed! CORA Food Pantry SNACK! Program Cookbook Fundraiser
Nearly half of Chatham County’s school children depend upon free or reduced meals during the school year. In 2009 Cora Food Pantry began a program to help families struggling to feed their children during the summer break. There were 120 children enrolled to receive weekly food boxes for 10 meals/10 weeks in 2009; this summer over a thousand have signed-up exhausting the program funds and more are on a waiting list. A group of creative volunteers stepped forward to offer their help to raise money for the Summer Nutritional Assistance for Chatham Kids program (SNACK!) by putting together a cookbook to sell. Now they need your help to make it a reality.
