Subject: Free Series of Talks in Chatham Focus on Aging Health Care Topics
PITTSBORO– The Chatham County Council on Aging and Piedmont Health Services invite residents to a free series of talks scheduled for July 25 to Dec. 13 on health aging topics, such as nutrition, home and community resources and medication. The talks at the Eastern Chatham Senior Center in Pittsboro are open to people of all ages.
Piedmont Health’s Moncure Community Health Center will provide speakers and meals for the events. The scheduled topics are:
July 25, 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm
“Eat to Live, Move to Win” – Nutrition in Older Adults
Aug. 21, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
“Aging in Place” – Home Safety and Community Resources
Sept. 26, 12:30 pm -1:30 pm
“It’s the Little Yellow Pill!” Managing Your Medications and Medicare Part D
Oct. 24, 12:30 pm.- 1:30 pm
“The Doctor is IN!” Let’s talk about Hypertension, High Cholesterol and Diabetes
Nov 15, 5:30 pm.- 6:30 pm
Dental and Vision Wellness Matters!
Dec 11, 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm and Dec 13, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
“Aging Options for Older Adults” – Maintaining Quality of Life

The Council on Aging operates both the Eastern and Western Chatham Senior Centers, providing programs and services such as home delivered meals, in-home aide service, minor home repair, transportation, exercise and wellness programs, SHIIP and physical therapy.
