To all who are trying to convince us otherwise nothing has changed since 2008.

“While we agree with Starkweather on most policy questions-and applaud his organizing-we cannot support his candidacy. As the primary force behind the Chatham Coalition, Starkweather has become a lightning rod for divisiveness, engendering a political backlash to the coalition’s agenda. Additionally, his tendency to embrace complex processes over efficient outcomes and to browbeat those who don’t share his views detract from his potential to govern. With Chatham’s recent churn, what’s needed on the dais now are cool heads and the ability to compromise.”
Starkwhether was the man behind the Chatham Coalition who spewed “downright lies and meanness”. This was a group that showed no civility towards it’s opponents and told voters in western Chatham that they did not need their votes to win.
Starkweather is so divisive that there was a political backlash against the Chatham Coalition’s agenda. In fact, ALL THREE Chatham Coalition candidates for commissioner lost in 2010. (So much for the theory that western Chatham voters don’t count)
The political backlash got bad that the Chatham Coalition had to “disband.” Not to worry, they morphed into the Chatham Democrat party leadership and have managed to alienate a large segment of the non-leftist Democratic rank and file in the county.
The browbeating continues to this day, but not as much in public as in previous years. This scheme has managed to fool some like momopom. Cindy, the man in front is not the same man as the one behind the curtain.
Apparently, people like Bruce will be deceived again.
Jennie, I did not take a trip back in a time machine or I am not confused. Jeff Starkweather is the same old liberal progressive he was in 2008.
