The 2nd NC HOPS AND ROOTS FESTIVAL SET FOR May 26th IN PITTSBORO
The second festival of this North Carolina-centric beer, farm fresh food, wine and music will take place on Saturday, May 26th at Shakori Hills Community Arts Center in Pittsboro. Gates open at 12pm.
The Hops and Roots festival ties together the “farm to fork” and sustainable movements going on in the area by presenting them with our NC local craft beer, NC state wineries, and slow-food artisans with local and regional musicians. Look for kids activities, local art and craft vendors, educational booths, and a farmers market on site too!
This year, the lineup of musicians is rock solid, Scheduled are Bill Toms and Hard Rain (a poet, a soul-shouter, and guitar slinger–a great rock n’ soul band), The Galactic Cowboy Orchestra (Chick Corea meets The Dixie Dregs meets A Prairie Home Companion), The Olympic Ass Kickin’ Team (Imagine a blend of The Faces, the Stones, NRBQ!), Audrey Auld (a Nashville singer/songwriter, “music with the dirt left on”), Anne McCue (“a bit dirty, a bit rockin’,a bit swampy and a bit bluesy”), The Lizzy Ross Band (fuses jazz and folk music with dirty blues, rock and soul), Justin Johnson (award winning blues, jazz, gypsy studio musician and performer), Cortete (Chatham County’s newest concoction of groove), Craicdown ( acoustic roots music with a high-energy, rock inspired flare), and Greg Humphreys (fronted the bands Dillon Fence and HOBEX. You all know him!)
