The Complete Gardener Series 2012
The Complete Gardener Series, 2012 will be offered during March, April, and May. There is no charge. These classes are targeted at beginning gardeners, gardeners new to the area, and gardeners who want to learn a little more about something. Previous participants have found that learning to be better gardeners also makes them better environmental stewards. By learning to evaluate plant water needs, more than 90% of participants have improved water use efficiency. Participants have saved money by reducing water use and by learning more about how and when to fertilize and how to manage pests. Reported savings range from $10-$20 to some as high as several 1,000 dollars. (Try it yourself; individual results may vary.)
Classes are offered in either morning or evening sessions; plan to attend one or the other. (And it’s OK if you need to switch from one to the other occasionally. Note that while morning and evening sessions are usually on the same day, there are exceptions.) See the complete schedule below and watch “Events” on our website at http://chatham.ces.ncsu.edu/index.php?page=events, for any changes. There is no charge for participating in these classes.
Those who pre-register can expect to receive a CD with supplementary information. We put more material on one CD than what we used to put in two large notebooks. On the CD we are also able to include the latest version of Acrobat Reader for using some of the included files and PowerPoint presentations.
Did I mention that there is no charge? Pre-registration is required. To pre-register for either morning or evening sessions please email Extension.Programs@chathamnc.org<mailto:Extension.Programs@chathamnc.org> or call 919.542.8202.
Classes will be held in the Auditorium in the lower level of the Agriculture Building, 45 South Street, Pittsboro, NC. See Map of Main County Office Complex at http://www.chathamnc.org/Index.aspx?page=796.
