Subject: 24th Annual Chocolate Cake Bake Off
Calling All Chocolate Cake and Cheesecake Bakers!
Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate is always the theme for the Council on Aging’s 24th Annual Chocolate Cake and Cheesecake Bake-Off and this year will be no different! This mouth-watering event has been challenging the top bakers in Chatham County for over two decades and is sure to please once again. With a panel of judges awarding prizes for the best tasting, most creative and most original cake and cheesecake, this is one event not to be missed.
So get ready to enter your favorite, delicious chocolate cake or decadent, chocolate cheesecake! Two first place winners, one for cake and one for cheesecake, will each receive $100. Judging will be based on taste, originality, appearance and creativity for an overall score. Four secondary prizes will be awarded as well. After judging, whole cakes will be auctioned by Pam Smith, of Beggars and Choosers, to the highest bidders. Presenters of cakes will be Sally Boyd and Nancy McLendon.
Winning cakes and cheesecakes will be served along with coffee or milk for $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children at the conclusion of the judging on Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Eastern Chatham Senior Center in Pittsboro.
To enter the Bake Off, call Megan Coggins at the Eastern Chatham Senior Center in Pittsboro at 919-542-4512 ext. 223 to register or email at megan.coggins@chathamcouncilonaging.org. The deadline for registering is Monday, February 6, 2012 before 5:00 pm.
All proceeds from the event will support the Council on Aging’s services for older adults.
