Subject: High School Senior pictures
I just want to say I like Meg’s idea about local photographers as an option for Senior pictures that protect families from the price gouging of the school brokered no-deals. It would seem to me locals could even do some portraits that might be more interesting and individualized for the students. I vaguely recall my senior photo being a template of the other 650 graduates… I was draped in a partial formal top (sooooo not me), my head cocked in some strange stiff position (soooo not me), and in the end, it did not capture my personality (perhaps they decided that was a good thing). Anyway, the cost for senior photos than was nuts. Meanwhile, living in a family of photographers with great equipment, there was no shortage of more suitable pictures that of course could NOT be submitted as a yearbook picture..
There is a better way Meg.
There is a Chatham camera club which perhaps can be a resource.
There are up and coming photographers building portfolios, who would probably relish the idea of this opportunity to get launched.
The digital world should make this all possible with high quality photos that can be easily loaded into a yearbook format.
