Subject: Northwood Mens V Soccer Update

Northwood lost a tough match in OT Wednesday night to Carrboro 3-2 in the 3rd round of the state 2A playoffs. It was a heart wrenching defeat as NHS had a 2-0 lead with 17 min. remaining in the match.

Carrboro scored at the 13 min. mark and then again with 90 sec. remaining to send the match to OT.

They ten scored in the first ten overtime to take the 3-2 lead. Both squads had scoring chances in the second OT, but could not convert. NHS scored at the 15 min. mark of the 1st half on a direct kick by Joey Suprick that nate Holst headed in for the score. Connor lawrence scored at the 55min. mark on an unassisted goal after a misplay by the keeper. Every Charger, to the man, gave a 110% effort, played with heart and emotion and fought to the end.

Carrboro moves on to host DSA, a 5-4 winner in OT Wednesday night, on Saturday night. Carrboro moves to 22-1-2, NHS ends their season 11-7-5.
