I’ve been listening to that rumbling and hearing the things on the southern wall of my house vibrate for several years now and I never knew exactly what it was. I always assumed it was either artillery fire at Ft. Bragg or blasting at one of the gravel pits, but never knew for sure. And I have pretty good search skills, but apparently they are not up to par with yours. What did you search for? Mysterious Rumblings didn’t turn up much that was useful for me.. neither did a lot of other search terms… and it’s not like Artillery practice schedules are that easy to find.
On the other hand, if people could spend about 30 extra seconds re-reading their comments and then making them a little less condescending, there would be a lot less unnecessary angst on e-mail lists.
So thank you for the link to the WRAL story. That just confirmed what I’d suspected for years, something I’d wondered about, but didn’t dig too much into because my house wasn’t falling apart from the booms and I had more important things to direct my attention towards.
Also, I don’t often watch the news… I’m usually working, so please feel free to keep us up to date there, since you have time to watch TV that some of us do not (and yes, that was meant to be ironically condescending).
Cheers,
jeff
