Department Fundraisers Supports Alzheimer’s NC
Alzheimer’s North Carolina continues its 28 year history of providing education, support and services to individuals with dementia, their families, health care professionals and the general public while raising awareness and funding for research.
In partnering with Alzheimer’s North Carolina Galloway Ridge at Fearrington sponsored the Alzheimer’s disease Annual Walk scheduled for October 1st where our team was onsite showing our support by walking. As a sponsor Galloway Ridge hosted several departmental fundraisers championing the mission to make a difference in North Carolina communities. The employee driven fundraisers raised over $4,100 this year exceeding our goal!
As a contributor, Galloway Ridge employees are helping make the lives of those devastated by Alzheimer’s disease just a little better. Imagine forgetting the beginning of this sentence by the time you reach the end. Alzheimer’s disease takes away what it took a lifetime to build – memories, dignity and eventually life itself. Loved ones are lost in so many ways before they are lost in death. At present, more than 5 million people in the United States have Alzheimer’s disease and someone new is added to those ranks every 72 seconds. By 2050, experts predict there will be as many as 16 million Americans living with the disease. There are no survivors, and there is no cure. More than 100,000 will lose their lives this year.

=FC September 10th – Housekeeping Fish Fry raised $505.61
=FC September 13th – Galloway Ridge Dine out Night at Torero’s raised $238
=FC September 22nd – Resident Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Accounting & Administration hosted Karaoke Night raising $284.77
=FC September 23rd – The Arbor hosted a Hotdog Lunch and raised $332.00
=FC September 6-27th – Duke Center for Living Pluck a Duck raised $616.00!
=FC September 1-30th – Galloway Ridge Team Effort raised over $2,000 with the “Casual For A Cause” campaign and wearing jeans on Fridays.
