I applaud Lowe’s for this policy. There are those out here who have pretty severe allergies to animal dander, etc…. all it takes is your dog shaking near someone to cause them to have a reaction. Some people go to greatlengths to avoid being exposed to these allergens… and to be exposed to them will trying to purchase, say, plumbing repair items, would be unexpected and unwelcome.
But… that’s beside the point. I must say I don’t understand this phenomenon of carting your pet with you everywhere you go. When did this become standard practice? Do you carry your pet with you to work? To court? To the doctor’s office? To the DMV? To the restaurant? I’m betting (hoping) no… so why cart them into Lowes with you?
I understand the companion aspect… I too, have PETS that are great companions to me, I cherish the time I spend with them. But while I refer to them as my ‘children’, I’m realistic that they are NOT ACTUAL KIDS… and I don’t feel the need or entitlement to take them into non pet-oriented venues.
