Subject: vehicle tag renewal
I just received my notice in the mail for my second vehicle which will be due 10-31-2011. I had received another notice in July about the other vehicle due at the end of August. Perhaps you missed your notice earlier?They appear to be sending them out in enough time so you can get your inspection on time. The inspection cannot be more than 90 days prior to the due date.
To renew you have 3 options according to the notice. Renew by internet www.ncdot.gov/dmv/,
or vehicle registration office or mail ( send in the form received). In the past I always mailed it in but this time tried the online registration. Worked like a charm ,if you don’t mind using a credit card.
The inspections are recorded in the computer at the inspection station and forwarded to DMV so you can do it online and they will know you have the inspection completed or not.
