Subject: Pittsboro’s new Farmers Market opens Saturday April 16th at Chatham Mills
*Pittsboro, NC- The Chatham Mills Farmers Market hosts its first Farmers’
Market of the season Saturday morning April 16th at Pittsboro’s historic
mill. The Market boasts a wide variety of local agricultural products
including meats, fresh produce, cheeses, flowers, baked goods and artisan
crafts. The Market will run from 8am to noon weekly from April 16 through
November 19th at 480 Hillsboro St in Pittsboro.
Offerings at this years Market include fresh and aged cheeses, pastured
chicken, lamb, goat, pork and beef, gluten-free baked goods and a variety of
fresh fruit and produce. The Market will host over 25 vendors including
several area favorites, such as pastured beef and pork producer Cohen Farm,
Doug Jones’ Piedmont Biofarm, and Hillsboro Cheese Company who make aged and
fresh cheese from local goat and cow’s milk.
This years season will include chef’s demonstrations, kid’s days and other
farm and food related special events during the Farmers Market. Chatham
Mills is also home to Chatham Marketplace, a community hub and the county’s
only Co-op grocery. “Chatham Marketplace has been very supportive, we both
see the market as a community builder in downtown Pittsboro,” says board
member and vendor Emily Lancaster.
