Subject: PAR Initiative
There is a number of parent discussion groups springing up now set firmly in motion against redistricting . A name has been placed on the movement . Its the PAR ( Parents Against Redistricting ) Initiative .
We are encouraging all parents from all Chatham County schools to join the movement by going online and subscribing to one of the groups on Facebook for your child’s school . If your school doesn’t have a group yet its a
simple process to start one . Please feel free to contact the administrators of the Silk Hope or Bennett PAR discussion groups on Facebook for help .
They will be glad to assist you in forming a group for your school . We estimate there are over 3000 parents involved in this process so far and the numbers are rapidly climbing . Some of the common goals are to stop redistricting and protect the K-8 traditional school program that has served us so well in years past and to initiate budgets cuts from the top down to reduce administration and conserve education . I encourage everyone to speak up now , the time is here to voice your opinion for the sake of our children and generations to come .
Please take time to reach out to other parents to help us support this movement . We have to pass the word around
in any and every way possible to stop this before its too late . I have heard allegations of everything from misappropriation of funds to favoritism towards contracts and jobs sub contracted out by the central office . This
is no way to run an efficient school system . This movement is not going away no more then the 4.5 million dollar short fall without some major changes in our school system .
I sincerely hope our school board is listening to the sound of the on coming freight train so they will make some logical decisions based on the support of parents that voted them into office .
