County leaders are proposing to build a regional landfill, so Chatham County can accept regional industry and residential waste.
Potential sites for such an industry have been identified, and county-wide meetings are scheduled for citizen input.
If you do not think such an industry near you is a concern, you may want to review the following which provide education regarding the landsite selection process, maps of potential sites, health and environmental hazards of landfills, and how, where and when citizens can have input; http://chathamnc.org/index.aspx?page=1406;

Please learn how solid waste sites operate and pose health and environmental risks.
County Commissioners say they want citizen input.
This is your opportunity to be heard!
Please attend a meeting near you, or write to your representatives.
