Friends of the Library welcome author Louise Hawes Jan. 20, 2011

Please join the Friends of the Chatham Community Library on Thursday, January 20 at 7:30-9:00pm for “Making a Long Story Short” featuring NC author and teacher Louise Hawes speaking on the appeal and the craft of short fiction.

Our guest will explain why the short story is so hard to write, so easy to read, and so popular with modern readers everywhere. Whether you read stories, write them, or both, come join us for an entertaining discussion about a genre which has found such an enthusiastic and expanding audience in recent years.

Chatham County resident, Louise Hawes, has written over 15 books for both young readers and adults, and is a founding faculty member of the nation’s first MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults at Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Friends programs are held in the Holmes Family Meeting Room of the new Chatham Community Library, 197 Hwy87 North, located on the Pittsboro campus of Central Carolina Community College.

Access convenient parking from the roundabout on 87N, facing the library.

Free and open to all.
