*Sunday Stories for Grown Ups at the Bynum General Store This Sunday
*
Just a reminder to bring your families and friends and join us for an
evening of storytelling for grown ups at the Bynum General Store on Sunday,
January 9th from 7 pm to 9 pm. You will have the opportunity to hear a
variety of storytelling styles and stories from some of the areas finest!
Garry Lipson is a retired high school construction teacher and cross country
track coach who has taken storytelling classes with renowned local
storytellers Louise Kessel and David Holt many years ago and rocked the
house at their recitals with hilarious personal experience stories.
Judith Valerie brings a playful integration of body, mind, and spirit into
her stories. She is a past performer with the improv ensemble “Off the Deep
End.” As an individual performer she has also shared her yoga adventure
stories, memories of growing up in post World War 2 England, and tender
tales to heal the heart.
Another local favorite and Bynum native is Ed “Moose” Duke. He is a retired
high school welding teacher currently living in Moore County where he now
enjoys skydiving and making scrap metal art (which has been displayed and
sold at galleries and art festivals throughout NC). He has recently added
“professional liar & storyteller” to his list of hobbies and is writing a
book about his life in Bynum, on the mill hill.
Although this program is not intended for small children, young people ages
10 and up will definitely enjoy this event.
If one night of storytelling isn’t enough. . .join us on February 6th and
March 6th for two more *Sunday Stories for Grown Ups *featuring three new
storytellers each evening!
