Chatham County 4-H offers Hunter Safety Course

Are you interested in learning more about hunter safety?  Chatham County 4-H is offering all youth ages 11-18 the opportunity to participate in the Hunter Safety program through the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission on July 12 and 13, 2010.  Participants will learn about firearms and ammunition, gun care and cleaning, archery

safety, game identification, fundamentals of shooting, hunter ethics & first aid.  All participants will be eligible to take the Hunter Safety Exam and receive certification.  Courses are taught by wildlife enforcement officers and volunteer hunter education instructors..  Hunter Safety Education will be held that the Kiwanis Building in Pittsboro from

9:00AM until 3:00PM both days.  Participants will need to bring a bag lunch to class and must attend class both days in order to take the exam.  If you are interested please contact the 4-H Office at 919.542..8202 or by email at <mailto:lauren.irby@chathamnc..

Participants MUST pre-register in order to attend the class.
