COMING Tuesday APRIL 27th, 7:00 PM:  MISS NANCY MINDS THEIR MANNERS
is an earnest and heartfelt film that follows a unique 80 year old
southern character as she teaches manners to children in her annual
summer camp “House Parties for Etiquette” and also in the local
public schools.  For nearly 20 years, young campers from all over the
southeast spend a week in “Miss Nancy” Rascoe’s historic Hertford, NC
home, where they learn much more than the finer points of dining.
With Miss Nancy’s wit, charm, and abundant patience, the children
learn valuable life lessons through old fashioned courtesies and
gestures of kindness… and with a healthy dose of outdoor activities.
Filmmakers Martha Daniel and Caroline Paxton captured the charm and
the antics of the energetic children and Miss Nancy’s unique staff
over a period of 4 years.  “Miss Nancy Minds their Manners”  is
fiscally sponsored by the Southern Documentary Fund and this is a
sneak peak “work-in-progress” screening with the filmmakers in
attendance. See the trailer, learn more: http://

PLUS: And in tribute to the Chatham County Courthouse we will also
show: THREE ROUNDS: MUSICAL STORIES OF PITTSBORO by Durwood Rogers.
“Three Rounds” is a musical portrait of Pittsboro built on the music
of three local musicians. The short documentary looks at the changes
Pittsboro faces as it evolves from a slow-paced rural farming
community into a fast growing suburb of the Triangle area. Round One:
Past uses the music of Tommy Edwards to look back at the Pittsboro
many fondly remember. Round Two: Present uses the music of The Never
to look at the sometimes traumatic changes the town currently faces,
and Round Three: Identity uses the music of The David D Trio to look
at the things that still make it possible for a place like Pittsboro
to maintain a unique and meaningful identity.  “Three Rounds” was
produced by Rogers while in the certificate program at the Center for
Documentary Studies at Duke University as part of the Anytown USA
Class series. The documentary prominently features the Chatham County
Courthouse and the Round Two, featuring the Never, was filmed inside
the superior courtroom.

COMING MAY 25th, 7:30 PM:   Premiere Screening of Shooting4Change:
Student Produced Documentaries with Spoken Word Artists and Live
Music. “Shooting4Change” is the ChathamArts digital filmmaking
program with teens at SAGE Academy in Siler City.  Please come out
