Subject: Duke Center for Living – Upcoming Programs
Duke Center for Living at Fearrington (DCFL) is pleased to announce two upcoming programs which are open to members and non-members alike.
“Foot in Yoga” is a master class that will explore features of the foot from several perspectives: basic structure and function, yoga philosophy and poses(asanas). The one-day class, led by Karen Bentrup, will include a presentation, movement, hands-on work, partner activities, stretches and exercises, asana and deep relaxation. It will take place on Sunday, Feb. 28th from 1-3pm in the DCFL Exercise Studio. The cost is $15 for members and $25 for non-members. Registration is required by Friday, Feb. 26th.
Registration for the next “Tai Chi for Balance” sessions is currently underway. Tai Chi improves balance, breathing and coordination, muscle strength, energy, mental focus, and relaxation. The program, led by Betty Akiba PhD and Joe Strain, is offered in six-week sessions in a small group training environment. There are two classes being offered: March 1-April 5 (Mondays) 1:15 to 2:00; or March 3-April 7 (Wednesdays: 2:15 to 3:00). The cost for the 6 sessions is $48 for members and $72 for non-members. Registration is required. Space is limited!
