Companion Camp, LLC has been providing pet boarding services in Chatham County since May, 2008. Located at 3408 Castle Rock Farm Road ten miles northwest of Pittsboro, Companion Camp is a nontraditional pet boarding service based on a “summer camp” approach that emphasizes the natural environment and outdoor exercise. Hiking trails wind through the ten-acre Camp with access to a half-acre play yard. During its first 20 months in business, the Camp has hosted more than 600 dogs and cats.
The Camp includes 12 duplex cabins for dog campers that have been constructed around a small pond. Each cabin includes dog-height windows, skylights, Kuranda beds, ceiling fans, and access to private play/bathroom side yards. The cabins are heated and air-conditioned. Cat campers are housed in a cozy cattery located in the main lodge. The
cattery includes sleeping condos, private litter boxes, and sunny windows.
All campers enjoy 24/7 attention from owners, Tom Crowe and Susanne Carter, who live on the premises; opportunities for exercise, play, and socialization in a home-like environment; and lots of affection.
