what is “Escape Day”

on January 17th, 2010

This is something new that I’m bringing to Chatham Socials group. The idea came to me after my own personal experiences along with a few emails I have received in the past that some of you prefer not to surround yourself in an atmosphere that revolves around food or the problems that just take us down during the week. Maybe your concern about your health and how you look.

Maybe food isn’t the problem. Maybe you find yourself in a problem at work, with a co-worker, with a love one, family or friends that are making you have anxiety, depression, boredom or even worse anger in your life.

Well an escape is now available to you to if you put some effort into coming out and join us on an emotion FREE break away kinda of day from the daily stresses that you currently have with some good old fashion exercise in the triangle. This is the best way to get you out of that rut your in while enjoying an outdoors activity or visiting a point of interest.

Chatham Socials is having a day of a sunshine and exercise despite the cold weather (you lazy bums..lol). Don’t be lazy or a couch potato, Get up, bundle up and get out. Those that feel a need to get up and move around, come join me through out the new year on Escape Day when presented. Thats right, stand up, stretch out, bring your shoulders back, breathe deeply three times and say out loud Yeah , Yeah, Lets get out here!!

On our first Escape Day we will meet up locally in Pittsboro in the back parking lot of Central Community College. In the parking lot look for a gray/purple van or a green 1990 chevy van with the Meetup Chatham Socials sign on the front windshield at 1:00pm on January 17th. Here we can park and meet others who like to attend the walk and give me some feedback on where you like to go next.

The Central Carolina Community College has a 1 mile paved loop around the back of the college. There will be two groups formed, one that moves at a faster pace and the other will be at a more leisurely pace. I will be in the slower group until I can build my strength again.

After our walk if anyone cares to have a drink, we can take it from there for some additional socializing or you can just do what ever you planned on doing the rest of the day. I look forward to meet you

Daniel

P.S. Friendly dogs and well mannered children are welcome to attend this event. If it is raining or sleeting heavy the event will be canceled
