Subject: Wow, The Great Divide
It’s really interesting to see the spirited posts regarding Matt Rudolf, Antonella’s and The Plenty. I hope Antonella gets lots of business from this! My son needs a haircut badly!!
What I see here though, is way deeper than the Plenty discussion. What I see is a huge divide in the county of us and them. And there is no THEM, it is all US. We are all in this together. We all want exactly the same thing. We may have different ways of achieving those things, but we all want health, happiness and maybe some wealth too. (that is where local economy comes in) We want our kids to grow up in a safe, stimulating and fun environment. We want our elders to enjoy their life here. We want to be able to follow our passions.
So, I propose that we have a chatlist gathering face to face so that we meet each other and maybe that would decrease the fire spitting and mis-communication. Instead of throwing darts, we could discuss and learn from each other. I’m sure that is the intention of Gene, anyway. Thank you again, Gene for providing the forum.
This community is rich in many ways and way too special to keep up this great divide. So, how about Ollie, Calvin and Gene and I organize a gathering at one of our local establishments or we could also have at our community space at Piedmont Biofuels on the edge of town.
I think we would all agree that we need to work together and not against each other….that is what community is all about.
