Subject: Galin’s the one in District 2!
Hi All,
I am supporting Gene Galin for the District 2 BOE seat for all the reason¢s many of you have mentioned already. He has been a very involved member of our community. Gene has provided a venue of open communication that has benefited everyone in the county. He will bring that same openness to our school system which will serve our teachers, staff and students well. It will also serve the public well since most taxpayers don¢t have kids in the system. If we are going to make it through these tough times the schools are going to need the help and support of everyone, not just parents. It takes a village to raise a child.
One of the other qualifications Gene brings to the table is he is a businessman. Did you know he has an MBA from Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC? I can¢t say how many times I have thought our school should be ran more like a business. Our children are our product. We need to educate them the best we can. With resources getting tighter and tighter its going to become even harder. Gene¢s business background will help ensure the money is being spent effectively. We need to focus on the child in the classroom. His education and career experiences will make that happen.
One other quality I like about Gene is he has already given a lot of his free time to the citizens of the county. He is a very involved citizen. Did you know he was on Chatham County¢s Strategic Planning Committee and helped write the educational specs? In the group he worked closely with members of the community throughout Chatham. A very diverse group yet they somehow came together and wrote a document which has been adopted and implemented by the county. One that will serve all areas of the county. Not just the NE. I think that says a lot! I am tired of the us and them, the East-West the divide which exist in our county. We are one county and Gene Galin will work for all of us. He has already proven that many times. He can be the uniting factor most of us all desire!
I voted for Gene Galin and I respectfully ask that you vote for him too.
Highest regards,
Greg Solomon
