We are new to Chatham County and have been reading the Chatham Chatlist since we knew we were going to be moving here. Many thanks for producing it.
We have been looking forward to beginning to participate in Chatham County life and made our initial attempt on Friday night at the Bynum General Store Concert. We loved the concert and the venue, just what we hoped life here would be like. We loved sitting on the lawn, watching the children run around, listening to the music, watching the stars come out and the fireflies beginning to flash.
However right before the end of the concert, during a spiritual song, “Down By the Riverside”, the singer suddenly sang “GW we will not go to war for you”. One of us got up and left immediately and the rest of us were too shocked to react right away. Did we inadvertently go into a place owned by liberals or to a political concert? We are hoping the view presented wasn’t the view of the group.
Is there a way to find out whether the Bynum General Store is not a place for conservatives?
Many thanks.
