Subject: local robberies
In response to the post about local robberies, a home in the Chatham subdivision (off Mann’s Chapel and Dollar Rd, near Twin Lakes Golf Course) was robbed last Sunday.
On our very active neighborhood listserv, a neighbor posted this description of a van that appeared to be casing houses on Monday and Tuesday of this week.
“Monday early afternoon (2:30-ish timeframe)… White older model (late 90’s boxy style) minivan (maybe a Chrysler) with a grey plastic front bumper (like it had been replaced) with a guy in the front seat with light-ish hair. Drove stop & go down the road. Stopped in front of the houses. Waited, drove 10′ forward, waited, moved 10′ forward. All the time looking around and at both houses. Neighbor showed herself, made
eye contact w/ driver, and waved. Driver immediately put car in reverse and sped back to the stop sign out of view. The van was seen scoping out houses AGAIN Tuesday.”
The neighbor has reported this description to the Sheriff’s dept.
