Subject: Park and ride lot correction
It is important to distinguish between the Park and Ride lots in Chapel Hill and the CAP lots (which stands for Commuter Alternative Program). The Park and Ride lots such as the one at Southern Village are open to the public. The CAP lots such as the one at Cole Park require a permit and you do have to be a University or Hospital employee. The CAP lots are clearly marked with signs that state that you need such a permit.
You can also check this information out yourself at the excellent Chapel Hill Transit website: http://www.townofchapelhill.org/index.asp?nid=401
There is more information about who is eligible for a CAP permit at the following website: http://www.dps.unc.edu/Transit/gettingtowork/CAP/cap.cfm
Hope that is helpful.
