The Fall Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance Announces Dates and Bands
Silk Hope, NC – The Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival of Music and Dance will hold it’s annual Fall festival from Thursday, October 9 to Sunday, October 12, 2008. The festival will feature more than 40 bands and performers on two big outdoor stages, a large Dance Tent, and an intimate Cabaret Tent. It is located at 1439 Henderson Tanyard Road in Silk Hope, North Carolina which is just down the road from Pittsboro, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Raleigh, Durham, and Greensboro.
Confirmed bands include The Del McCoury Band, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, The Duhks, and Boulder Acoustic Society.

The folks at Shakori Hills are also excited to be hosting the second annual Hoppin’ John Old-Time & Bluegrass Fiddlers’ Festival . This event will be held on the festival gounds on Friday September 19th and Saturday September 20th. There will be individual and band contests, contra and square dances, clinics, and of course, a hoppin’ john cook-off. Camping is available starting Wednesday, September 17. Tent and vehicle camping is $10 per night and RV camping is $15 per night (no water or electrical hookups currently available).
Tickets are $8 on Friday and $10 on Saturday. Contestant tickets are $18 with a $10 refund after competing. Ticket for children 12 and under are free.
