Subject: Ben Jones & The General Lee Visit Fearrington!
Pittsboro – Thursday, July 10th at 7pm, McIntyre’s Fine Books is delighted to welcome Ben Jones to read from his new book, Redneck Boy in the Promised Land: The Confessions of Crazy Cooter. As a special treat for Jones’ fans, one of the original General Lee cars driven in the television classic will be on hand for viewing! The General Lee will be parked beside the bookstore on Silo Road, just off Village Way in the Fearrington Village Center.
Millions know Ben Jones from his memorable role as Cooter on “The Dukes of Hazzard” as well as his career in the United States Congress. But many are unaware of “Crazy Cooter’s” unbelievable tales of his adventurous past. His new book is filled with stories, anecdotes, and opinions about Jones’ experience growing up in the hardscrabble South, about the rambunctious Sixties, about alcoholism and addiction, about show business, about politics and Congress, and about one “good ol’ boy’s” struggle against himself to become the accomplished and respected entertainment and political figure he is recognized as today.
This event is free and open to the public. McIntyre’s Fine Book at Fearrington is located eight miles south of Chapel Hill on U.S. 15-501 in Fearrington Village. For more information please call (919) 542-3030, email us at books-at-fearrington.com or visit http://www.fearrington.com/ .
