Subject: Park & Ride catalytic conv. thefts
Thank you Collen for the link to the WRAL article about the thefts from the park & rides. It’s a serious situation and both maddening and frustrating. It sure is not being ignored or shrugged off by the officials.
It would be stupid for them (or perhaps a nicer word would be counter-productive) to divulge details about the criminal investigation to me, as a concerned colleague in the Transportation end of the Public Safety Department, or to anyone else.
However, it’s obvious to me that the situation has the serious attention of the UNC Dept. of Public Safety. Together with the Chatham County Sheriff’s department, they are definitely on the case.
