Subject: More Opinions on Fast Food and THE ARTS
Well, I too think this is getting alittle boring.Hashing
around the good and bad things that are coming into
Pittsboro.
I am a life long resident of Pittsboro and I seem
to remember when all the hoopla of THE ARTS started coming to town and
Chatham County. Have I heard the first complaint about this lifestyle taking over our beautiful, tranquil, listening to
birds singing town? I believe the answer is NO.
I
happen to like pottery and the idea behind it is, that God is the
Potter and we are the clay. You can create beautiful things
with a handful of clay, just as God has done for thousands of years and
continues to do. And no one is questioning that, but art is
not all there is to life for every person that lives or may venture
into Pittsboro.
Some people cannot afford a $24. teapot. They have to go to
Walmart and dollar stores to be able to purchase items that will fit
their budget. Some people cannot afford to go out for the
evening in a 15-20 minute/mile range, to enjoy an evening out with
their children. Hardees and McDonalds may
be the only types of restaurants that many
folks can afford.
And what are we suppose to do when we want to go out of town, put a
note on the Chatlist to see who wants to
carpool? Most folks work and cannot go at the drop
of a hat just because someone wants to carpool. And if we
have what we need in Pittsboro, we don’t have to worry about
carpooling. And we don’t have to worry about putting gas in
our vehicles to the tune of $4. a gallon and rising.
Not one chatlist opinion have I read downing THE ARTS and I
for one enjoy seeing the new store fronts in town. If I want
to shop there I will. But if I don’t, I want. That
is everyone’s choice. And most people in Chatham County will
shop at places where they have always shopped and might even
venture into some of the new ones. But if they don’t,
that is ok toooooo.
So let’s put a stop to this idea that we are ruining Pittsboro, because
no one is. Not the arts lovers or the McDonald
lovers. I think we can all enjoy Pittsboro in the lifestyle
that each of us have to live in. Whether it
be a McDonalds or a fine dining tea house or expensive restaurant, just
let everyone go where they want to and not complain because as I said,
some cannot afford a $24. teapot.
