If one wants to come out to Jordan Lake and recreate, I strongly suggest that you visit one of the established recreational areas managed by state parks. These areas are staffed and patrolled by the park rangers. Problems do arise at times , but can be
handled by the park rangers who are nearby. These park areas are the only approved spots to swim , camp and picnic. The other lands surrounding the lake are generally managed as game lands and under the Wildlife Resources Commission.

The wildlife viewing area off of highway 751 is maintained by the New Hope Audubon Society under an agreement with Wildlife Resources Commission. It was established many years ago to allow folks the ability to view some bald eagle nests established in the shallower section of the lake. If you have any complaints or compliments about this area please contact the president of the New Hope Audubon Society. The email is: stephens.at.mail.spg.unc.edu

They are always glad to accept volunteers to assist them in their environmental education and resource protection goals.

I would also suggest that you contact the Wildlife Resources Commission with any law enforcement complaints 919-707-0220.

The web page for the state park managed areas on
Jordan Lake is : www.ncsparks.net You will select
Jordan Lake from the visit a park option.
