I am not so happy to hear that you feel that you and about two or four or six other people feel that you are entitled to ride what is essentially a 40 passenger limousine service that taxpayers had to pay $360,000 for.

I am going to throw this out there for some consideration reg/the ghost bus..
For those of us that don’t drive, it would be marvelous, except for one fact: we
have to get there initially. In my area, we are NOT serviced by Chatham
Transit, so we can’t get there to begin with to take advantage of the transit to
CH..I was initially thrilled and so looked forward to riding it..but I have yet
to do so. I am not sure how much interaction is involved with Chatham Transit
and the ghost bus, but speaking for one person, this is the ONLY reason I have
not rode it..I am originally from Chapel Hill and have ample friends more than
willing to pick me up on the other side, but…

Subject: Ghost riders on the Bus???

Last word on my opinion about the GHOST bus:

I need my car for work and cannot ride the bus. I have to run errands for my work daily. When I lived in Chapel Hill, I did not own a car and used the transit system. Wasting fuel/natural resources? That bus running up and down the road all day with 2-3 passengers is the bigger waste than me driving my car to work.

Subject: Ghost bus? I think we’re missing the point

There’s been a long list of attacks placed on this horrible government program of a transit bus from PBO to Chapel Hill. I would just like to point out the irony of folks on this list speeding up in the cars on their
daily commute to look at the ‘empty’ bus, and of folks driving out to the bus stop to take photos of the ‘empty’ bus before they drive north to Chapel Hill to work.

I find it interesting the transit bus is nick named the Ghost bus. I know a bit about ghost and it definitely haunts one to know that tax money from a stimulus package was wasted on something that frivolous. The money spent on that is like much of the money being wasted internally through the county offices where someone benefited from the expenditure.
