Both really good deals, but not in Chatham County

I did go out of the county, reluctantly, and I did find the car I was looking for.  I found it on the Internet at Leith VW in Cary.  The salesman was Garry, I highly recommend him.  Too bad the Manager at PBO didn’t find it for me like he said he would.  Not only did I buy the Sebring Convertible but I bought a BMW 325i also.

Both really good deals, but not in Chatham County.

I had a positive car buying experience at Pittsboro Chevrolet

I think that it is fair to give equal time to the positive experiences that we have had with our local business’. Personally, I had a great experience with Pittsboro Chevrolet.

I primarily dealt with James (can’t remember his last name right now). I too hate the whole sales pressure thing and I hate  buying used cars. I have been taken once before, so once bitten twice shy .  I have to say that I never once felt “badgered” or not given prices of vehicles.

They don’t list the prices so they can get you into the dealership

I had a similar experience with PBO Chevy.  I pass there often and had noticed a car I was considering.  I stopped there last week to get the price as their website does not list the prices of the cars.  I was met on the lot by a salesman who did not know the price of the car, he asked his manager, came back out to the lot and said his manager was in the middle of a deal with another customer and he could not get the price right now.

I agree with Dan, My experience at PBO Chevrolet was inane, oh come on you can afford this payment…..

I finally went to Craigs list and am really happy with our new (to us) car. Good old neighbor to neighbor commerce. I highly recommend it and State Employees Credit Union for the car loan, we have banked there for years with fair rates and excellent customer service. I just wish they were not building that huge new space, who needs those big trusses anyhow?

I just want a price of the car!

I have refrained from complaining about any business since I’m in business myself but since others have complained here goes.

I’m in the market for a good used car that is of course good on gas. I saw a Toyota Prius on the Pittsboro Chevrolet lot and although I was in a hurry I thought I would get a price on it. I asked the salesman what was the price and he did not know but if I would go to his office and see he could tell me. I’m in a hurry so if you could just give me a price I would appreciate it.

Complaining to the management is only useful if the management is concerned about keeping customers

I have been reading and learning from fellow chatlisters of good and bad experiences with local businesses. There seems to be a trend here. The local automotive service and sales companies seem to want our business. Many have spoken up for and against several local businesses that provide vital transportation and service to the local community. I have myself mentioned an unfortunate and inconvenient brush with one of the companies in the area (much to my chagrin).

I agree 100% when they say “Buyer Beware”

We too got burnt from Pittsboro Chevrolet.  I agree 100% when they say “Buyer Beware”.  Be sure you read your paper work very closely before you sign. If not, When you get home, you might find your interest rate differs from what the salesman quoted you.

The day we purchased a vehicle, the process took four and a half hours, and I dare say, we had to talk to 5 different people.  Between each one, you were left sitting in an office – waiting.    We too have to claim our part in the fiasco -not doing our homework.  We paid the same amount for a used car that another dealership had a new one for.  So…………….

I’ve seen lots of negative press about the Chevy dealership in Pittsboro in the past few days. I purchased a car from them last fall, and I think I got one of the best deals ever.

Since I have had horrible luck with purchasing cars in the past, I had asked my mechanic to help me pick out a reliable vehicle. I had also researched vehicles on Edmunds.com, msn autos, and kbb.com for all the necessities (pricing, specs, reliability, safety, etc). I had narrowed down my choices to 4-5 different styles of cars and printed out information on specs and pricing from the above websites.

We recently purchased a used base model hybrid with 30,000+ miles from Pittsboro Chevrolet. We tried negotiating a better selling price but they would not come down, stating they had a lot in the vehicle and that their pricing is based on current market demand. My post sale research indicates that Pittsboro Chevrolet charged us more than $3,000 over what the vehicle sold for new, and $5,000 over the current Kelley Blue Book Value. (Unfortunate for us that we did not have this research information at the time of sale).
