There hasn’t been a press release from the district yet, but the 4-year and 5-year graduation rates have been posted

I’m concerned by these numbers. In 2008, for the 4-year rate, Chatham was at almost 80%, 9.6% higher than the state average. Now we are at 74.3%, which is 2.6% lower than the state average. It is disturbing that our graduation rates are declining (this year was 0.1% higher than last year) while the state is improving. The 5-year numbers are similar.  In 2008, for the 4-year rate, Chatham was at 77.8%, 6.0% higher than the state average. Now we are at 77.1%, which is 0.6% lower than the state average.

Subject: Northwood L V Soccer ended their season at Carrboro

Northwood ended their season tonight at Carrboro 6-0. A combination of an average performance on our part and a good Carrboro squad equaled a long night for the Chargers.

The team, coaches, managers and parents would like to wish our seniors, Anna, Annie and Sara the very best luck in their adventures after graduation. We will miss you more than you know. Thanks for four years of service and dedication to the Northwood Soccer program.

Oh Jeffery, you remind me of me when I used to run around saying the sky was falling if we don’t have a new high school in time for MY kids.
Now it’s YOUR GRANDKIDS. Wish I had taken a lot of that energy I used fighting for a new school and put it into improving what we have.

Subject: Gang awareness

Has anyone thought about the 2 boys that got beat up by the boys from Northwood that claim to be in the cripts gang?

I want to be informed of whats  going on in our town it seems that no-one is willing to admit that we have a  serious problem. I do not feel safe letting my kids walk the streets of our sweet little town for fear that they are going to get jumped. I want to know if  these boys have been kicked out of school for being known gang members, I want  to know whats being done about it. I want to know that the town is not keeping  quiet and pretending that we don’t have a serious problem here.

Subject: NHS Coach needs help raising money for Lukemia and Lymphoma Society Marathon

My name is a Jason Novak and I am a Health/PE teacher here at Northwood.
I also coach Girl’s Tennis this fall and assist with Girl’s Varsity
Basketball and Track in the Spring. I have been training for the Chicago
marathon since mid-May with Team In Training for the Lukemia and
Lymphoma Society. My goal is to raise $4200(pre-set by LLS) to help with
cancer research and other LLS needs. I am doing this in honor of my
Uncle Mike, who was a retired Marine, volunteer firefighter, and a
