Good One, Ben! I would have to have a severe personality disorder if I didn’t recognize the elitism and pomposity in my own words. This was not exactly my highest truth and frankly it’s not really my actual belief. I have eaten from  Subway, Pizza Hut, Dominoes and I love the smoothies and salads  at MacDonald’s. Subject: Farmers market next to Carolina Brewery

Hi, chatters.  I went to the Farmers Market located in the parking lot between McDonald’s and Carolina Brewery.

While it was small, there was quite an offering of fresh produce and pastries, as well as coffee.  I haven’t seen anything about it on the Chatlist, so I thought I would mention it.  The people are set up at 8:00, and the selection was quite good, especially for something new.

Subject: Anti-Capitalist Chatham Residents Shoot Selves In Collective Feet

Mixed beverage/liquor by the drink/”LBD” or whatever other name you call it…no one’s making you drink ‘em.  The topic has been hashed out numerous times on the Chatlist as well as the Chatham message board numerous times and the primary arguments being made against it have been refuted by many common sense counterpoints from many local residents
that no one has yet managed to successfully dispute, such as how drinking five minutes from home versus fifty endangers less people and how current laws don’t prevent me or you from making mixed drinks during get-togethers at our homes and getting plastered locally anyway.

If you’re reading this, then two events of earth shattering and life ending proportions have come to pass with nary a hair lost in their wakes of death and destruction.

The first of these is the opening of the new McDonald’s on the Hwy 64 Bypass in Pittsboro. I read the cries of the many on the Chatham Chatlist in angered protest against McDs coming to town as person after person revealed their most intimate painful memories of how this mega-corporation had sewn the seeds of chaos in their lives.

Subject: McDonalds and KFC NO THANKS

I would never allow my children to eat in those fast food chains after clear documentation of abuse of all animals from these large companies such as.

1. Chickens killed for their flesh are bred and drugged to grow so quickly that their hearts, lungs, and limbs often can’t keep up.

2. Hens used for eggs live six or seven to a battery cage the size of a file drawer, thousands of which are stacked tier upon tier in huge, filthy warehouses.

In general I don’t have a lot of luck when it comes to fast food. I have what I call the fast food curse. If there are two lines for food in a fast food place I always get the slow line. When I order, other people will come
in, place their order and walk out with food in hand while I am still standing there.
