How about left handed red heads, because they can be so difficult in public places!!
Get a life people! They are dogs and only dogs.

Subject: Lowes is not Woodstock
I also applaud Lowes and the others who support no animals in public places.
I would never go eat anywhere where pets were allowed inside.
When I am at a place like Lowes and see someone inside with a dog, I suddenly have the urge to rent “Woodstock” again.
Seriously, when I see a large dog approaching, I go down another aisle. My older son was once severly biten by a neighbors dog on OUR property. When we asked them to obey the leash law and keep their dogs on their property, they suggested my family come and “get familiar with their dogs” !!

Subject: good behavior for both.
It seems that a number of people in Lowes have been bothered by the behavior of both the human child and the dog companion.
I use to teach adult education dog obedience classes for a decade. The first night was always without their dog in order to show them how to gain simple control before bringing the dog into a group class. I COULD ALWAYS tell who would be successful if they had children with them. The successful ones had well behaved children.

I support deer hunting with dogs, as long as the dogs are those teacup chihuahuas that no longer get to go to the hardware store. They need an outlet, and I would pay to watch.

We are perhaps beating a “dead horse” here with the discussion of dogs at Lowe’s issue. But if you bring a horse to Lowe’s you will have to pick up the poop you know; they sell large garbage bags there for your convenience.. Maybe we should muzzle our dogs and leash the children in public then everyone would be happy.
Too bad for the Lowe’s corporate decision regarding dogs, however, and the whinner that started it all. Home Depot has a notice on their entrances too, but they will not enforce it I am told straight from the horses mouth….and I ain’t neyin’ who.
See you at Home Depot for a Hot Dog!!

Subject: Dogs at Lowes
It is sad that they are not allowing non service dogs in Lowes. I haven’t been in a while, so I have not experienced this yet. Our yellow lab absolutely loves going to Lowes with us. We only take him if we’re going in to pick up a couple of things, not shop for an extensive amount of time. He is very well behaved and loves people. However, if we are walking down the aisle and someone else is coming, we always keep him close to us just in case the person doesn’t like dogs. You can usually tell. Some people just ignore him and others ask to pet him.

Folks,
If you are sitting on the fence as to whether dogs should be used in hunting or not, or don’t have an opinion, maybe you should have been with me one cool clear morning in Chatham County. When I discovered what I thought to be branches piled at my fence line, my cat starring mysteriously in the direction, all of the sudden the huge rack of antlers rose up out of a bed of dried leaves and the Buck struggled to stand. Had the hunter been a better shot, maybe even had a trained tracking dog with him, I would not have stood in my backyard that morning with my heart in my hands.

Subject: Pets in Stores
I have to agree with Lowe’s and wish every business on this planet would follow suit! My child is allergic to your pet. Pets belong at home not at the grocery store, the home improvement store, my office, the convenience store or anywhere else.
Service animals are different. Yes, technically it is a pet however, people who use them, bring them because they HAVE to in order to get around. When someone does have their service animal, I will wait or go somewhere else because that person NEEDS assistance and their needs are way more important than mine. This is common courtesy as I am able to go elsewhere without help.
If you do not require assitance from an animal to shop, bank or whatever, common courtesy says leave your pet at home because it just may be the death of someone (for allergies not attacks).

Hi Chatlisters,
I agree with Scott Mace and dreadpiratejeff. Just because YOU think your pet is part of your family doesn’t mean you should force your un-ending togetherness onto people at public places like Lowes.
But I also agree with Sheila Holland in that there are some kids who can be unruly or rude in public. So just like the dog who growled at a child at some Lowes store somewhere, unruly kids should be banned from the stores. Well, kids are not the same as pets. We can’t ban them from stores just because their parents are lazy idiots who

I would like to know what Lowe’s you are speaking of, I go to the Lowes in Apex and they welcome dogs and Employees stop and pet him. I often see other dogs there and not one Employee to my knowledge has said not to let them in. Never to me anyhow. If you are upset your dog isn’t allowed in to this Lowes Drive a few extra miles to the
Apex Lowes. They love Dogs.
