Subject: Chatham Schools Announce Upcoming Open House Dates

Schools across the district are planning their annual open house events in preparation for students to return on Monday, August 25. The majority of schools are holding opening houses on Thursday, August 21, which is the only required workday before students return. There will be optional teacher workdays on August 19, 20 and 22. During open houses families can discuss classroom details, bus routes, etc. with staff.

Bennett School will hold its open house on Thursday, August 21, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

We have two exciting after school programs that combine games, activities, arts and homework support with
our Y Core values.  There will be an after school program at Pittsboro Presbyterian Church with Y bus pickup at Pittsboro Elementary and Horton Middle School. The Pittsboro after school program is open to Kindergarteners through 6th graders.

I am posting this for a friend.  Please respond to her directly.

School House Blues

It is the start of another school year.   Summer break has come to an end and so has our freedom of choice when it comes to where we want our children to go to school.

Just when you think your children are well grounded, up comes a root.  My husband and I are a concerned parents and life-long citizens of Chatham County.  My son is an upcoming freshman who has always attended Pittsboro schools.  He attended Pittsboro Elementary and Horton Middle School and had always planned on attending Northwood High School.
