Subject: George Lucier backs out of citizen forum
As I mentioned yesterday, I have posted a series of video clips of folks speaking about the Chatham County Commissioners’ ICE Resolution and illegal immigration on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=BFB53A6376780980
I was and am planning to be at the public forum sponsored by CCV at the Dry Dock Restaurant in Cole Park Plaza Thursday evening at 7 pm and get some video clips of the proceedings.
Unfortunately, I have found out that Commissioner George Lucier has backed out of the public forum and has released a government issued press release which includes a statement on behalf of the Board of Commissioners, which summarizes the factors and statistics behind the county commissioners’ adoption of the resolution.
I am disappointed. This would have been an awesome opportunity for George to answer some questions and get it on digital video tape for folks in the County to see.
Oh well. C’est la vie.
